Here are some stories of local paranormal activity . I was unable to find the actual source to give them the appropriate credit . If you have further information please contact the web master

My intention is to personally investigate local legends and haunts and determine if history can support the claims of paranormal activity.  We are equally pleased to disprove a haunting as we are to indicate paranormal activity.

If you have need of an investigation or want to share the local tales and legends (or make the truth known) please do not hesitate to contact me at mike@LCPIR.com .

Lewiston, ID - Lewiston Civic Theatre UPDATE 09-12-2006!!

Kris Nelson and her half sister Brandy were not murdered in this building. The two girls lived on Sixth Avenue. They walked down the hill behind Lewiston Civic Theater to a set of stairs that once led down to Safeway supermarket on Idaho Street. Their friend, Steve, was indeed the janitor of the theater. He was sitting on the back steps, smoking - evidence proves this - while his clothes were being washed in the theater laundry facilities. The three ventured down the hill together. There is evidence they did finish shopping, a shopping basket with identifications were found later. They were abducted from the parking lot. The girl's bodies were found a year later along the Kendrick road by a teen-ager whose hat blew over the hill. Steve has never been found.

There are not 70 spirits involved in lighting candles nor twirling the chandelier. The only old director who has been involved in the theater is very much alive and would be apoplectic if you referred to him as dead. He does indeed visit all of the shows but he certainly makes his presence known. There is no trap door into the attic which serves as our light central - there is a pull down stairway that does not move of its own accord. Of course there are groaning boards and noises because the building is one hundred years old. You refer to harmless spirits but your article is anything but without harm. I direct children's studio workshops in the summer and my students have come to me with the terrified questions of how to deal with the ghosts that do not exist.  Please correct your record.

Jacqulyn Haight, Director, Past President of the Board of Directors and member of Lewiston Civic Theater for more than 35 years.

This story below has been published on several web sites, after received an email from Jacqulyn Haight I have published the actual story.

LCPIR would appreciate the opportunity to investigate this historic building to prove once and for all that it is not haunted and ease the fears of anyone who enters.

The false story that has been spread throughout the internet, this is a perfect example of how a ghost stories begin.

Several years ago two girls were murdered in the Civic theatre which used to be a church. Also that night the janitor disappeared and they still can't find him to this day. At night you can see the youngest girl climb up the stairs. She will also play tricks on you. There is also a phantasm of a woman who was left at the altar when it was a church. You can see her roam through the seats crying. Also one of the old directors who passed away will sometimes come in late at night and sit down to watch a play. Strange feelings can be felt all around.

September 2004 addition: there are, at any given time, no less than 70 spirits in the theatre. There's a trap door in the light booth that goes up to the rafters that has opened on its own. Lights turn on and off on their own. The chandelier spins in one direction for ten minutes, stops for five, and starts spinning is the same direction. Visitors lit candles on stage, some blew out on their own. The ones that didn't blow out didn't burn when you put your hand in the flame. There was wailing that started from stage right and moved inhumanly fast to stage left. Floorboards move inexplicably. All the spirits there are harmless, of course, but it's still an exhilarating experience.

Lewiston, ID - Waha Lake - An old Native American woman wanders around along the shore of the lake. When approached she recedes into the lake and disappears into the water leaving a whirlpool of white foam.

Clarkston, WA - Lancer Lanes - The spirit of a woman is said to be seen pacing along the sides of the alleys when it's not too crowded. Workers there have become accustomed to her.

Update 5/03/06  We have been interviewing people that either work or have worked at Lancer Lanes and thus far we have been unable to find anyone that has witnessed anything. The staff do not claim to be "comfortable " with her presence for the simple reason that they have never seen her.

LCPIR arrived at Lancer Lanes and a video camera was set up pointing towards all the lanes where the spirit of a woman is reported to have been seen.

During the investigation we picked up an EVP while in the Pro shop. The Question asked was "did you die in the building" you can hear a forced whisper saying "no".

We did review the video tape, while LCPIR  was behind the bowling pins area we did an EVP session, nothing was captured, however upon review of the video tape you can see a light had come on for a duration of approximately 5 seconds.

It was confirmed that the staff had not turned on any lights. It was also determined that the light switch was in the back room and everyone was in the front area.

While Mike was doing the EVP in the pro shop he felt someone grab his shoulder, the only other person in the room was a staff member. That staff member was not close enough to have touched Mike's shoulder.

When Mike went back to the video recorder to conclude the investigation he  placed the tape into his pocket. The lens cap was not on the camera. When he went to grab the lens cap to put it onto the camera it could not be found.
It was found on the camera of the video camera!

After these experiences Mike went to record them on his audio recorder. Upon playback of the recording device you can hear footsteps going down lane 1 of the bowling alley.

LCPIR wants to thank those staff members of Lancer lanes for their cooperation and hopes to be able to return.
